Chin Humanitarian Aid International, Inc. (CHAI)

Chin Humanitarian Aid International, Inc. (CHAI) has been established by Chin people across the globe.

Chin is one of the major ethnic groups in Myanmar (known as Burma). The purpose of CHAI is to identify what requirements for humanitarian aid for Chin people are,  particularly for those who have recently been affected by natural disasters and displacement.

Our aim is to ensure that the Chin people can access humanitarian aid where there is no provision of food, medicines and basic supplies for families who are affected by natural disasters.

On 1st February 2022, the Myanmar military coup took over civilian power illegally and more than 30,000 Chin refugees were forced to flee to their neighboring country of India. Whole villages from Southern Chin State have escaped across the border to safety in Mizoram State in North East India.

Many Chin refugees live free from conflict in Mizoram, however there is an urgent need for humanitarian aid, as many refugee camps are short of food and shelter.

Natural disasters like monsoon, flooding and landslides are shattering already devastated Myanmar refugees in Mizoram State.
